Mexico During Winter

There may be many health benefits to going away on a winter sunshine holiday. The primary one could be the fun. Staying in England can be slightly miserable owing to the short days and uninviting temperatures; the buzz of happiness you feel knowing that you have escaped all of this doom and gloom and are enjoying the suns rays is superb. Another factor is the fact that the sunshine encourages the body to manufacture vitamin D, this could be very beneficial and studies have shown that this helps to make people happier.

Once you decide to go on a winter sunshine holiday you should ensure that you are well prepared. It may seem rather bizarre including the sun block when it is raining outside but this is indeed imperative. If you pick to go on holiday to a place that is very hot such as grabbing a Cancun late deal, then make sure that you pick a high factor sun tan lotion.

Going away on a winter sunshine break need not cost the earth. There are quite a few good value sunshine breaks at this point that will assist you to go away for a lot less than you might assume. Make sure that you look about, look on the net and visit a few different tour operators before you choose to book your holiday. You could also be sure that you read peoples opinions on your chosen holiday so that you know just what you are in store for.

The winter time can be a awful time of the year thanks to the weather, ice, plus even snowfall and howling winds can make staying in UK appear very unappealing. It’s due to this reason that many people decide to go on a winter sun holiday. There are lots of resorts to single out, you need not travel that far to appreciate the sun. Sections of The Med are much nicer than the British Isles during the UK winter.

Sunny Tenerife

Sunny Tenerife

There are few places left in the World quite like Tenerife, an island that’s focused on its holiday market and that still holds most of its natural qualities and native fascination. The greatest asset of Tenerife, in our personal opinion, is its diversity. We’ve seen too many holiday destinations become branded as “fashionable” or  “luxurious” or “cheap”, meaning that any kind of tourism and tourists that don’t fit the label tend to shy away. A great example of this is Ibiza: branded as a “party holiday” destination, people who could enjoy its beaches and scenery decide not to go there because they wrongfully picture it as being full of partying, noisy, rowdy young people.

But Tenerife has always marketed itself very well and kept the range of offers wide and varied. People who like the club scene and the occasional beach trip have as much to do in the island as people who like to bake at the beach all day and people who like to sightsee. There are hotel offers for everyone as well. For example, in the famous resort Playa de las Americas hotels offer a wide range of accommodation options, from the cheaper range to luxury hotels – all in the same area.

What to do and see at Angel Falls

What to do and see at Angel Falls

Falling from a height of 3,212 feet, Angel Falls is the highest continuously flowing waterfall in the world. This spectacular falls is located in a portion of Canaima National Park in Venezuela. While there are many versions regarding how, when and by whom the falls were first found One legend lays credit at the feet of Sir Walter Raleigh but there is no definite proof to support this premise.

According to all accounts, Angel Falls was named for Jimmie Angel who was an American small-craft pilot associated with a mining company in Oklahoma. Around 1933 while Angel was searching for gold, he first glimpsed the falls near a plateau area known as Auyantepui . Two translations for this name are Devil’s Mountain and Devil’s Canyon.

Angel Falls which has been calculated to exceed the height of Niagara Falls some 15 times was first featured in a 1949 issue of National Geographic. In 1957 the ashes of Jimmie Angel were sprinkled over the falls to commorate his death.

The area around Angel Falls and Canaima National Park is home to numerous varieties and colors of orchids. Many creatures of the wild find a safe haven here from monkeys and three-toed sloths to jaguars and capybaras.

The best time to visit the falls is during the rainy season from June to October since it is believed the tropical rains falling during this period both increase the speed and add special beauty to the flowing water. It is interesting to note that during the dry season from January to April, the amount of the flow backs off to a mere trickle.

The only way to experience Angel Falls is by boat, plane or hiking on foot. A visit by boat usually includes a camping trip spanning 2 or 3 days with campers sleeping in hammocks located about 30 miles away in the national park. By airplane it is only possible to fly above or in front of the falls since there is no place to land near them. It could be said that hikers have the best experience since they must make their way through the jungle and canyon to reach Angel Falls.  Lesley at allpro
